Leadership Thurston County is a ten-month, local leadership development program. It includes monthly, day-long sessions (Challenge Days), and Opening and a Closing Retreats. The program is designed to assist each participant in acquiring a broad understanding of the complex issues facing the South Puget Sound region and in building relationships that will facilitate collaborative efforts in resolving today's and tomorrow's challenges. Topics are explored through speakers, panels, field visits, seminars, team projects and study groups. Participants gain insight into how community decisions are made, who makes them, and what alters and influences these decisions. 2010 Calendar of Events
* Additional group project activities take place outside of Challenge Days. Time commitments are dependent on each groups own schedule. PARTICIPATION is mandatory. Participants are expected to attend all monthly sessions and participate fully in projects and homework as developed and assigned. Any participant missing more than a total of two of the October-May monthly sessions shall be automatically withdrawn from the program, unless otherwise deemed appropriate by the LTC Board of Regents. |
