Mission

The purpose of Leadership Thurston County (LTC) is to develop informed, skilled, and committed leaders to build and sustain healthy communities in Thurston County. The program is designed to assist participants in acquiring a broad understanding of the complex issues facing the South Puget Sound region and building relationships that will facilitate collaborative efforts to embrace opportunities and resolve challenges. Leadership Thurston County is a program of the Thurston County Chamber Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) educational, non-profit organization. Since 1994, over 450 people have completed the program; the Class of 2014 will be the 20th LTC class.

Who Should Apply

Leadership Thurston County applicants are highly motivated, committed to being involved in our community, and plan on assuming leadership roles. Applicants must live or work in Thurston County. A maximum of two applicants may apply from one organization.

The 10-month program begins in September and ends in June. The class meets monthly for Challenge Days that focus on topics, such as Business & Economic Development, Government, Health & Human Services and the Environment. The year's schedule is attached but may be subject to change. The year after graduation, participants plan and facilitate part of the curriculum for the following year's class.
